My story

and I loved every minute of it!

I am Liezl Davies. Born Namibian. I am married with two children.


I completed my schooling in Namibia and then went to South Africa to study Bachelor in Industrial Psychology. After I completed my Honours degree in Industrial Psychology, specialising in Human Resources Management, I returned to Namibia.


I started working in the Human Resources field for the national Rail provider, TransNamib, before I joined the mining industry and started working for Namdeb and then De Beers Marine Namibia. I worked in various human resource related areas, specifically focusing on Training and Development as well as Organisational Effectiveness, Performance Management and Strategic Planning.


In 2012 I joined Rossing Uranium Limited who is part of the Rio Tinto Group.


This is where I was given the most rewarding opportunity when I was asked to take up an Operational Management role. This truly stretched my development as I do not have the Engineering or Metallurgical qualification that a person in this position normally holds. I was responsible for delivering on production targets of the company and overseeing a portfolio of improvement work that is designed to achieve the strategic and operational agenda of the site.


I however relied extremely on my knowledge and experience of leading high performance teams, coaching, problem solving, process optimisation, performance management and strategic planning / goal setting.

I have always been extremely passionate about making a difference in the world and contributing to people's lives in a positive manner.


This is what lead me to venture more into the coaching field and what encouraged me to be more deliberate about seeking these coaching opportunities that will allow me to give back.


 I am eager to work with leaders who are also passionate about their teams and about leaving a wonderful legacy behind when they move onto the next big challenge in their careers. People who want to make a difference. People who want to be the difference.


I have coached various leaders, formally and informally, at different stages of their careers. I have coached:

• young professionals who for the first time ventured into a leadership role,

• leaders of teams who need to create vision and direction for their teams,

• leaders of teams who still need to go through the forming, storming, norming phases before they get to a performing team,

• leaders who need to deliver results through others on how to drive performance of their team and

• leaders who are leading a team through change and need guidance on how to do that.


I have been part of a company in its growth phase as well as a company in its challenging, market-constraint, cost-optimisation phase. This gave me a wonderful appreciation of the pressures each of these typical life cycles of companies hold.


With over 20 years’ experience in the mining industry and my passion for people reaching their full potential, I am honoured and eager to join your coaching journey.
